Storage Restrictions

These rules protect your belongings, the units next to yours, and the people who work here. If you are not sure about an item, call the office before you bring it.

Flammable or combustible materials

These materials are a danger to the whole facility, to the people here, and to your own stored items if there is an accident. The list includes gas, fuel and fireworks. You will be asked to empty all fuel tanks, even on your lawnmower, before you put these items in storage.

Animals or animal products

Strange as it may seem, people have tried to keep their pets in a storage unit because they believe they can come by to feed and care for them. This is cruel and could result in prosecution.

Perishable food

If you are storing the contents of your house between moves, it may seem to make sense to box up the kitchen cupboards too. This might be fine for cans, but there are restrictions on perishable foods, as they will attract vermin.

Illegal or stolen goods

We do not allow illegal or stolen goods to be stored on the property.

Firearms

Please ask the office before you store firearms. If they are allowed, you will have to follow the facility rules about securing them.

Jewelry and valuables

Please ask the office before you store valuable jewelry, coins or precious metals. You may have to agree to certain restrictions or show proof of insurance on the items.

Perfumes and fragrances

Strongly scented items, or anything else that causes a significant odor, should not be stored.

Aerosols

Aerosols and other pressurized containers can burst and cause accidents.

Hazardous materials

Hazardous, toxic or chemical materials are not allowed. They can cause real damage if they spill or if there is a fire.

Plants

You cannot store plants or any other living thing. They attract insects and pests.
